Classroom Rules and Expectations

This is going to be an exciting year! Each student's education is my highest priority, and with your support I will do my best to ensure your child has a successful year.

Goal
To stimulate students to develop an active interest in how science and history influence our daily life. To enable students to use scientific and critical thinking concepts, skills, and values to make responsible decisions.

Materials
  • 2 one subject spiral notebook (One for each subject)
  • Loose leaf paper (All year long)
  • 2 Two-pocket folder
  • A pencil (everyday) and/or pen (blue or black)
  • Tissue
Classroom Rules and Expectations:
There are certain guidelines that we will follow in order to create the best learning environment. We will be active learners, organized, efficient and on task from the beginning to the end of the school day. In order to do so, the following rules will be implemented:
  1. Be on time, in your seat and working with all needed material by the time class begins.
  2. Be respectful of yourself, others and the property of your peers and campus
  3. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself
  4. Use appropriate language and actions.
  5. Raise your hand when wanting to speak and wait to be called upon
  6. Be an active learner. Every student is required to volunteer and participate in classroom activities.
Consequences:
In order to provide a safe learning environment the following policy is going to be strictly enforced.
  1. Verbal warning
  2. Student/ Teacher conference
  3. Detention
  4. Team Conference
  5. Parent/ Teacher Conference
  6. Office Referral

Absence Policy: Students have two class days for everyday the are absent to make up missed assignments. It is the student's responsibility to obtain and complete missing assignments. All work will be in the absent binder and posted online.

ZAP (Zero's Aren't Permitted): Students are required to turn in all work. If a student does not have their homework, they will be given a ZAP notice. The student will contact their parent to inform them that they have been zapped and will have to remain after school or during electives to complete the missing assignment. Student will not be cleared until the assignment is complete. Failure to attend ZAP to complete will result in further consequence.

Late Work Policy: Students will lose 10 points each day the assignment is late.
